Jaeger wins 2018 Knoxville Open

KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) — Stephan Jaeger is a PGA Tour member, but he didn’t compete in this week’s The Players Championship. Instead of taking the week off, he decided to take the time to get better.

That decision is one he’ll be happy with for a while. The University of Tennessee-Chattanooga alum grabbed the lead on the front nine with three birdies and pulled away on the back nine.

Jaeger shot 16-under for the four-day tournament at Fox Den Country Club. He won by three strokes over Sungjae Im.

This is his fourth Web.com Tour title since 2016.

Wyndham Clark finished third with 12-under for the tournament and six-under for the afternoon.

Knoxville native Wes Roach sat alone in third place after three rounds and after Sunday he finished tied-fourth at 11-under. He shot even par in the final round.

The co-leaders after three rounds both finished tied for eighth. Both shot 2-over on Sunday.
